Survey from 6 years ago (2008) had the percentage of teens sexting @ 20%. The iPhone went on sale in 2007, Twitter started in 2006, and Snapchat in 2011. Sooo....20% were doing it well before the explosion of both social media and smartphones. Those percentages must be significantly higher now just based on increased access to the technology to do it.

My bet is that once the brain is fully developed and the link between actions and consequences is there in the adult brain (~age 25), the percentages drop dramatically.
