It would be cool to catch up with my first long term BF, but that's probably as far as it would go. You never forget your first, but it doesn't always mean you'd like to rekindle anything. However, I think there will always be one person that you'd like another shot with if you didn't get to fully see it through the first time (as in my case).

I would love to kick that first guys ass.

I wouldnt go back to a single one. I was young, and even without that excuse have made some poor choices in men.

If something happened with my current boyfriend, I would probably feel that way- but then I've never actually wanted to spend the rest of my life with someone before now.

If the woman you're wanting to contact is married, be respectful and stay out of her and her family's life. From personal experience I can tell you it's awkward to be contacted, awkward to sever ties again, awkward explaining the contact to one's spouse. Just awkward in general and the ex seemed to lack respect for my spouse by initiating contact in the first place.

Of course if this woman is single that's a different ball game. Go for it. If she isn't enthusiastic to hear from you you have your answer. Move on. On the other hand it could lead to a rekindled friendship.
