I remember Medussa and Kage when I was in high school.

I remember seeing some bands play at battle of the bands at NVCC in Annandale and Tippis Tacos over by Multiplex off Route 1.

Anybody remember a band called "The Kids" that used to play around Fairfax. There were two brothers in the band and I remember seeing them at Olivers on 123 in Fairfax a couple of times.

Emmitt was the worst, such hype, then you go and they were terrible. Not surprised but still so glad they never took off nationally. All those emo bands based out of TTs were terrible, so Fairfax, so lame.

Best band I saw at a small venue was Jimmie's Chicken Shack at Fat Tuesdays.

Mama Cass attended GW High School in Alexandria. Not sure if she attended while the Lizard King was there.

Foo Fighters.

Before some dipshit pipes up to dispute this...Dave, Taylor and Nate all three lived in Dave's Alexandria house for nearly 3 years. They recorded There Is Nothing Left To Lose and parts of One By One in the home's basement studio, known as Studio 606 East. Therefore, they were at that time a "local band". Albeit one of the best known and most talented rock bands in the world.

I remember Egypt at TT's. They were awesome. Good coke at the after parties. If I remember correct, the lead singer was connected to Living Color somehow.
