Official FCPS School Closing Thread

Please be advised that this thread is only for the use of FCPS faculty and staff. Failure to comply will result in swift legal action.

Attention faculty and staff

Students will report 2 hours late on March 25.
All tests will be cancelled and rescheduled for the next day. Faculty will not be permitted to administer any tests or quizzes.

Faculty and staff are expected to report on time.

Recreation programs will proceed as scheduled.

School Age Child Care (SACC) programs will be available for students until 6:15 p.m. or until the last child is picked up.

First of all, there is no possibility of 2 hour delay as the snow picks up from 10 and continues til 3. Before that is snow showers. So to answer some questions, THERE WILL DEFINITELY BE NO 2 HOUR DELAY. School will either be closed or open, because the majority of the snow occurs when we are in school. There is the possibility of a early dismissal but FCPS is reluctant to issue it as they must notify all guardians and make buses report early. My guess it that school will be open tomorrow because the snow is VERY light, and will accumulate only up to about 1.5 inches. Also, it will rain afterwards, so.......... it will be gone very quickly.
