Manassas National Battlefield Park will host a preview screening of “Civil War: The Untold Story,” a new five-part documentary series that will air on public television in April.
The screening event will be held at 1 p.m. March 29 and is sponsored by Manassas National Battlefield Park and the Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership.
The park will show the first episode of the series, “Bloody Shiloh,” which explores the first major battle of the Civil War. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion led by Robert Sutton, the chief historian of the National Park Service. Filmmaker Chris Wheeler will introduce the documentary.
The series will air nationally beginning April 1. Locally it will air on WHUT Howard University Television and Maryland Public Television.
The screening will be held in the Henry Hill Visitor Center auditorium and seating is first come, first served. Admission to the park is $3; there is no additional fee for the screening.
