Tornado watch today and FCPS didn't close schools?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Are they trying to grow some balls now?

No, it's because your safer at the school. If a tornado is spotted, you can "shelter in place". Imagine if you were out on your way home and caught out in it?

Seriously, boys and girls. Conditions prompting the now-rescinded tornado watch were not in evidence until hours after all the kiddies were already in school. It doesn't seem to me that very many folks understand how anything actually works around here.

Well, the only county referrred to was Fairfax, and I don't think you can cite any nearby jusrisdiction that has any of these "very unusual contingency plans" you lamely allude to. This isn't Kansas, you know.
