Helicopters At Night Hovering

Does anyone know the deal with the helicopters that just stay in one place at night if you look towards Fairfax City on 236 or on Braddock near Twinbrook looking towards GMU? There is at least two every night and sometimes more. Thanks

I wondered about that also. Sometimes in the middle of the night I hear a low rumbling and the house kind of vibrates a bit.
