Fairfax County General :
Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Driving to work I crossed the county on all sizes of road. Hats off to the guys who are plowing. 29, 66, Ffx Pkwy... all clear. Some of the ramps are a little slushy. The bigger side roads are good too. Only things that need work are neighborhoods and commercial streets and lots. Overall I'm surprised and impressed. This would have crippled Hotlanta for a week.
After the 3 storms 4 years ago, VDOT finally got their shit together for the most part. They may be overbudget this year, but the roads everywhere i have seen have been pretty good.
It's a violation of Liberty & Freedom and a waste of my HARD-EARNED MONEY to have enough manpower and equipment on hand to be able to clean things up this well!!! Besides it doesn't say anywhere in the Constitution that the state has any right to plow our roads to begin with. WE THE PEOPLE are responsible for ourselves. We do not want this sort of cradle-to-grave nanny-state!!!

+1... There was a lot of snow, too. Finally, a job well done by VDOT.
