We want to change the way that TJHSST will hold the testing of the SIS and essay.Students should complete the SIS and essay at a testing site still in the PDF format,rather than at home.TJHSST is a highly prestigious school, with strict regulations and an unblemished reputation to adhere to. It is completely unethical to simply take away students rights of abstaining from an unnecessary test or allowing other students to potentially cheat by allowing others to complete or assist them on their respective Student Information Sheets or Essays, a blatant contradiction to the TJHSST mission statement by completely bypassing the goal of "fostering a culture of innovation based on ethical behavior". This way, even the most deserving student is not guaranteed a spot in the final 480, as there is no way of assuring that the work submitted is original and therefore does not represent the student's true ability and thought process. So we urge all semifinalists and any other TJHSST students, teachers and alumni to support our endeavor. Dude.... in case you missed it, VA is now a liberal state. They will hand these kids a free ride however they can. This isn't going to stop. I can assure you, at this rate, students will CONTINUE to lose their abilities in critical thinking porcesses, thinking for themselves, responsibilities (if a student can't do it, someone will be paid to do it for them), while increasing their entitled attitudes towards teachers (thank today's parenting for that) and codependencies on this liberal/socialistic form of government we are now under. are you saying that these kids should have to go thru an unfair process? at this rate tjhsst will be admitting kids that don't have a clue as to what science even is. this petition has the closest shot compared to ANYTHING else to changing that. good luck john with this petition and its for a great cause!

No, im saying kids WILL be given anything they want because thats what this liberal society wants. Give everyone what they want so its "fair", lolololol. I think those kids should earn that right, not given a "trophy" cause they participate. I'm with the petition.

Nice idea but there are issues -- like finding space in a timely manner and fixing the computer issues that caused the problem n the first place.

According to Washington post article, this is the first time they tried to do the SIS this way. To me getting help with the SIS and essay is similar to taking a class to pass the initial test. If you need that type of help to get on, how are you going to do the work once you get there?

Move on .... It is kind of a crap shoot anyway.
