Im sure they will put the safety of 75,000 children over the maggots that create controversy where there really isn't any...please
Please don't subject little Johnny and little Sally to cold temperatures. They are only used to facing these extremes while skiing in Vale, Park City or Jackson Hole. They can spend all day outside in these conditions while on vacation, but the 13 seconds they spend in the cold while exiting the BMW and running to the entrance to Spring Hill Elementary could kill them.

Well, for starters, they have a decent salt base down. Second, they have a decent amount of equipment. Third, and probably most significant, they roads aren't littered with tools driving cars with 50-profile tires and no clue what they're doing.
The roads around here were actually not bad this week, other than maroons driving 10MPH under the limit *on dry pavement that was white with salt* (maybe thought the salt was snow?!), and coming to a complete stop on a busy road before turning right from dry pavement onto dry pavement, and on and on.
And that isn't even really the yokels' fault: they've had no opportunity to learn how to drive in snow. So...suck it up, it's just the way it is.
Schools in parts of Illinois and Minnesota are closed today due to cold weather.
Climate change or just a bunch of pussies?
What is meant by climate change is the safety of the children.

Please be advised that FCPS takes a variety of data points into consideration before deciding to close school. This includes the distance from any late model year BMW or Land Rover to a school entrance that must be traversed by students who are too wealthy to ride the bus.
If the temperature is below 60 degrees we'll close.
The principle at Thomas Jefferson High School had an announcement today that school is very likely to be closed tomorrow, and then gave us our new midterm schedule.
If Dr.Glazer says it will probably close, chances are, fcps is gonna close!
I'm actually upset because I have to spend my 4 day weekend studying instead of celebrating Chinese New Year :(
NBC Washington has already issued a wind chill alert for Fairfax County, in effect from 1 am to 10 am tomorrow.
