I was called a foreigner today

I slug from Springfield into DC each day. I rode with some folks with French accents and they actually asked me:

"Where are you from?"

Because of my supposed "accent".

Unreal. It's over guys-they have taken over.

I have lived here my whole damn life.

Haitians? Or are you trolling?

I was recently down in the Virginia Beach area for a few days and it was incredible feeling like I still lived in the United States. Living in the 3rd World as we do up here is an incredible source of stress.

Do you have a Virginia accent? Do you say "Tyoosday" instead of Tuesday, for example, or pronounce greasy as "gree-zee"?

If so, they might be used to the more neutral Midwestern/General American accent a lot of DC people have, and probably don't realize that accent to be the interloper in this area.

as their numbers grow it makes perfect sense for them to assume that the natives are the outsiders.

Yeah, the neighborhood kids look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them there was a time not too long ago when their classes weren't comprised of half spics and at least a quarter other third world: rather like 90% white with a smattering of blacks and the one Asian.

Now, go into any school and it's like the 3rd world has come to us.

Good thing we're giving them all amnesty.
