Yo, grit - modern historians trace the decline of Falls Church HS to the opening of JEB Stuart in 1959. Not even the new building and the planetarium could save the place.

My parents graduated from there in 1982. I golfed with a guy today that graduated from there in 1981.

No, it was Mr. Margrave. I know this because he was a teacher at Westfield this year (although he retired in June).

FCHS was still good in the 80's. Now it looks like a ninimun security prison.

The good ole' days were during Ms. Scott's "typing class".
Class of '84.

Who did you golf with today, 1982? I graduated in 1981.

And, J Malazo, I totally remember Ms. Scott's typing class. She was a hottie. And a very nice teacher. Although, she never said anything, I suspect she was getting chemo when I took her class in 79-80 but I guess she got better by 84. Hope she's still doing ok.

Anybody remember Mr. Stepp? What a tool he was.

But there's no doubt that school sucked in 1981.

Has anybody had the Jaguar Java?

Funny story: The Cove condo's are built across the street now, but in 77-81 that entire area was trees (a forest if you will). Anyway, kids were always skipping class and hanging out in the woods smoking, drinking, whatever. Well, fast forward to 1996 and I lived at the Cove for a couple of years and the damn kids were still coming over there hanging out, smoking, drinking, whatever. BUT IT'S NO LONGER WOODS, IT'S CONDO'S. I find it ironic. It's like a homing pigeon.

But it did irritate me and I went over to the School Office (talk about a creepy feeling) and bitched and they said they couldn't do anything about it because they weren't on school property. I asked if they could possibly look out the front window and SEE the kids leaving the school property and nab them when they returned and then they told me that there was nothing prohibiting them from leaving the school grounds. What a crock. Life does go full-circle.

The athletic fields at FCHS were free of goose shit before the Cove was built. Now there is wall-to-wall goose shit where the children play from about 50 geese that are present because of the Cove's little private pond. The taxpayers pay to clean up the Cove's goose shit from the playgrounds so children don't get Cove goose shit diseases. You are bad people.

aaa:

Payback's a B!t@#. I had to clean up after all those little bastards on my patio every day for two years. And choke through a cloud of cigarette and pot smoke as I walked out my door to go to work every day.

I just heard on the news last night that PG county is asking citizens to call the police if they see any school-aged kids around during school hours. Stellar idea!

Too Long Ago, when were you there? I was in 1994-6 I think. 7600-H.

That it was. A good number of the top students from that era went to Ivy League or Ivy-equivalent colleges. The football team was State Runner-Up in the fall of 1976 (Class of 1977), and the baseball team was one of the best in the region during that entire time.

We also had a decent number of rednecks, but were not a "redneck school" in comparison to Oakton and Herndon, for example, back in the day.

I remember going to a couple football games at Falls Church High in the late 70's when Mike Grayson was there. He was a great running back.

Graduated in 98, was on the Varsity team that won the Bell my senior year. I loved FCHS, it's a dang shame that the County has refused to put any money into any type of renovations for that place. I remember there were a few hot teachers back then.

15 years ago to be exact. But the upscale Mosaic neighborhood and the rezoning of Annandale HS neighborhoods to Falls Church are bringing in the wealthy kids and the athletes. Falls Church is on the rise.
