Run, do not walk, to the nearest available exit. You are asking the wrong site for this information!

My recommendation is that you do not look at any answers that might be given.

You have been duly warned.

My employer is in Centreville. DC and Maryland are too far of a commute.

Do people still use the term "negro" in Fairfax?

I work in Gaithersburg and there are way more blacks there than fairfax. THere is a nice neighborhood there near the Whole Foods. Kind of along drive to Fairfax though.

I would save the wasted rent and go to 10520 Judicial Drive in Fairfax City. They have some upper level rooms with pretty decent views.Plenty of Homeys to hang with, free food, no bitches messing with your shit.

The blacks in Fairfax County tend to be mixed in with all the different communities. I don't really know of any wholly African-American communities in Fairfax County but their are some in Arlington County and plenty in DC and PG County. All you need to do is just meet some black people that live in Fairfax County. More than likely they will be educated and upward mobile so they will introduce you to others. Shouldn't be hard.

I would recommend Greenbriar. Not a lot of AAs necessarily but my constituents keep it real, that's for sure.

I would take a look at PG county, lots of nergros over there. Southeast DC has lots of negros too. Traffic won't as bad since you are going the opposite way.

Come on out to haymarket to dominion valley. We hit the wife's all day long if you get my drift. Sexy white ladies with jungle fever all day long. Half the community is mixed and the other half wants a taste of the brother.

Given that you'll be working in Centreville, I think just going to the south side of Manassas city where you'll find the Gerogetown South community. It is within walking distance of Manassas city, and there's a lot of culture there, too. The home prices are quite reasonable - but they are townhomes and not any single family homes or apartments are in that particular community.

There's even an added bonus. In the past, there was a police substation located within that community due to all the drug deals. I'm not sure of the status today regarding the police presence to that degree, nor do I know if drugs are that big of an issue in the community at this point in time.

This is an actual picture of the Georgetown South community and reflective of basically any street within that community.

At best, Dominion Valley is maybe 5% African American. Normally, blacks and Asians tend to stay away from communities with hefty HOA fees. Given that D.V. has an HOA fee of $280+ a month, that kind of keeps the riff-raff out.

But, it does not completely exclude races from moving into the community. Asian families feel that they want to mainstream their children and would likely live there in order to avoid getting too engrained in the complete Asian culture by living in Annandale. However, African Americans do have the desire to be somewhat of a poser. This is often apparent in how the love to have the cleanest, flashiest car on the street. It is quite possible that a community such a DV could attract them to move there. They would love to show their crib up to the homies when they come over.

I seem to recall that Haymarket also has a food pantry too. All one would really need to do is pick up a load of groceries each week to offset the cost of the HOA. Plus, I don't think the food pantries will be too judgmental when you drive up there in your highly polished Lexus SUV to collect a few boxes of free food.

Just move into ANY nice place you think is nice. Why are you looking for a "black" community? Why factionalize yourself? Get along with everyone! I've got black neighbors and they are the most upstanding folks I have ever met. There are tons of white's and hispanic's and asian's in my middle-class neighborhood that are absolute trash. It doesn't matter what ethnic background you hail from, just be considerate and NOT an asshole and look for other's that appreciate the same and you will be in good hands.

No people don't. Just the idiot, pimple faced teenagers sitting in moms basement.

This site is not a good reflection on the overall area.

PG county in Maryland is the wealthiest "minority majority" county in the country but a long drive to Chantilly.

A lot depends on the price range you are looking for. The whole county is pretty diverse. If your kids go to public school there will be plenty of races represented.

African American community, what does that mean?
You do realize Africa is a continent and on that continent there are many different ethnic groups. If skin color is really your quest why not just state it.

Most of the Moon Crickets are in PG county, or in D.C. Some of the hardest Spooks live in S.E. It's kind of like Chicago, but more violent. This is how a good african american "violent Savages" community lives.

You do realize segregation ended decades ago, you reverse-racist, seperatist douchebag?

What would have happened if I would have hit a message board looking for a predominantly white community? I'd have been deemed a racist of course! But a brotha can come on here looking for a good "african american" (can you trace your roots?) community and he's simply a "strong black man with pride", right?

Since you went there...that ain't your water fountain, that ain't your bathroom, and your seat is at the back of the bus...

Tell ya what, there are actually tons of "African American" communities in Northern Virginia. In Fairfax county you'll have to move east to the Alexandria area. You could try parts of Prince William, like Woodbridge and Dale City as well. I think the most enjoyable part of these "African American" communities is that you'll find very low rent and lots of security (See; Police Presence), as your "community" members seem to love destroying their communities from the inside out. No one else wants to be there. Have at it!

This is not Chicago (yes, I lived there once and I was steered toward the ethnically appropriate neighborhood right away). Just look for a good community. Period. People here think we have a gang problem, a crime problem, whatever. We have nothing compared to Chicago. You might actually find it boring (but in a good way). If you want a totally African American community, don't move to Fairfax County (move to DC or some of the areas of PG county). If you want your children to grow up in a mixed suburban/urban area, move to Fairfax County. Yes, you will have to "school" your kids in how to be streetwise at some point, especially if they move back to Chicago or wherever, but maybe they will stay here. Maybe they will be comfortable around people who are different.

Fuck you dickhead. Do not invite trash to our neighborhood. There is no such thing as a "Mayor" of Greenbriar so stop referring to yourself as such. My neighbor still has a lawn jockey in his front yard if that is any clue as to whether or not Nigers are welcome in Greenbriar.

The black lawn jockey was an important signal on the road to freedom on the Underground Railroad. It was a beacon for freedom for runaway slaves.

If a safe house was 'safe', and prepared to accept visitors, a lantern or an American flag would be placed in the forward reaching hand.

Sounds like a perfect area!

That's most of Fairfax County, especially wealthier areas. The crackers on this board are the exception, not the rule. And there are no predominantly African-American communities outside the Beltway in Fairfax County that I'm aware of.

New to the area,

As others have suggested, FFU is a free-fire zone, populated to a sad extent by trolls and kiddies. However, it can be a good source of breaking news -- what that police activity was in the next subdivision, whether your favorite restaurant is gone for good or really closed "Temporarily", and the like. If you persist, you'll find some good information amongst the dross.

Having said that, this resident has no useful information for you specific to your quest. Good luck...

If the original poster is truly a black person asking for a legit answer- I do have this to add- this board isn't not representative of the cross section of Fairfax. (i.e. lots of bigots).

You want the hood? Go to hybla valley. If you are middle class afro-american with a decent job- you shouldn't worry about a black neighborhood- hit the suburbs with a good school district and pay the price for a nice house.

But my sneaking suspicion is that the OP is a troll looking to get stir up other like minded angry old white dudes.

Gum Springs down off Rt 1 in Alexandria, Falls Church by the James Lee Rec center, Vienna by Louise Archer school, Herndon by the Floris school, School Street in Fairfax, Zion Drive in Fairfax Co. Understand these places today are places where many people live. In PG County Md. there is a area that has lots of black professionals its called Ft Washington and is near the Potomac River and the new National Harbor on the Potomac.

I don't see it. Knowing where Centreville is not "detailed info" about commuting. Person could actually be new to the area.

To the original poster:

This forum can be useful occasionally; you must separate the wheat from the chaff.

Most neighborhood communities in NoVa are very diverse. While NoVa has a lower concentration of African American than other counties in the region, it has a large proportion of other minorities. Most African American families that choose to live here are seeking solid neighborhoods, stable housing values, and excellent public schools. Their are many avenues to pursue and cultivate interests in African American culture, be it through church, social organizations, musical and art performances, which colletively tend to be less localized and draw from throughout the region. My best advice is to choose a neighborhood based on your job commute, school pyramid, and housing value. Then build a cultural network that is an adjunct to your community network. Therein you will find a community foundation that will meet most of your socio-economic, family, and educational needs. Welcome to the area.

... such as mangling the English language. The African American tradition of committing crimes in the nice neighborhoods into which their Section 8 ghettos were thrust is also celebrated widely in the county.

Previously pleasant neighborhoods, schools, parks, and playgrounds are now sprinkled with contributions from the subsidized presence of the African American community: graffiti, McDonald's bags and wrappers, discarded menthol cigarette packs, and cans of orange soda adorn our county parks and serve as reminders of the wonders of diversity. If trash, tags, and grape soda cans leave you wanting more African American culture, feel free to visit the local prison to explore the height of your culture.

Mr. Carter G Woodson,
Could you kindly assist a white person interested in pursuing European culture and community?
My current neighborhood is loaded with Hispanics and niggers and has become unbearable.

Just live in Centreville. The traffic in Centreville is like armageddon every evening from about 4:00pm to 8:00pm. You can't do reverse commute. Everyone is moving here! When will they stop coming.
