Anyone know when is a safe time to drive by the huge McLean church around lunch time tomorrow (Sunday)?
We got held by police for somewhere between 20 to 45 minutes (argument there between me and the ex) a while back while they let the traffic out of the church. I need to pickup food tomorrow and want to avoid it getting cold.
Thanks if anyone knows. :)

Thats the thing....there are NO other roads...if your are trying to get down route 7 when they are going in out, you are screwed by the time you see the back up there are no roads to bail out on.

If you're going East on 7, it doesn't matter if you're held up at the church light, because right after that comes Tyson's which sucks just as bad anyway. There is no freedom after the Lewinsville light.
As far as bail out roads - sure there are (again, heading east). You can turn right on Towlston (or make a U-turn to get back there) and cut down thru Wolf Trap and get on the Toll Road (no toll getting on there as a bonus).

I need to have a talk with the guy who recommended this "you learn everything there" forum. So apparently the smart thing to do, in order to look good to other countries, is to avoid all roads that go by churches on Sundays, even major ones like this one?
Anyway, luckily, if head the right direction from the get go, google gives me only 7 extra miles and 12 extra minutes via the toll road. Not bad.

Thanks snowdenscold, I'll look that one up! if it cuts back the 13 miles drive back to 6 miles and saves me toll.

how about this....they have a traffic light, make em use it without the police dicking with it.
if they want to go to church great, let them sitin the parking lot waiting for the light to cycle though each time. don't penalize the rest of the folks who just want to get from point a to b
cops can't direct traffic well enough to keep traffic flowing. Cops dick with the traffic flow at 123 and g-town pike every day around 3pm-4pm when the potomac school is getting out...

Their Sunday 1st part of day services start at 9:00am, 10:45am, and 12:30pm. Their parking includes a multi-level parking garage, thousands come each Sunday. Their website http://mcleanbible.org/ has other service times.
