WASHINGTON - Two people were killed in a one-car crash in Fairfax County early Sunday morning.

Police say Devin Austin, 21, of Triangle, and Aminata Sesay, 23, of Alexandria, was killed when the car Austin was driving crashed into a railroad bridge on Van Dorn Street, near Vine Street, just after 3 a.m.

A 20-year-old in the back seat is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say that speed may have been a factor in the crash, and are also checking to see whether alcohol was a factor.

Fatal Crash in the Van Dorn Area

Franconia Police District – Around 3:05 a.m. on Sunday, October 6, a driver of a 1995 Lexus ES300 was traveling northbound on Van Dorn Street, near Vine Street. As the Lexus approached a railroad bridge underpass it left the roadway and struck a concrete bridge pillar. The driver, 21-year-old Devin Austin of Triangle Virginia, died at the scene. The front passenger, 23-year-old Aminata Sesay of Alexandria Virginia, also died at the scene. The 20-year-old rear passenger was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates that speed may have been a factor in the crash. Alcohol factor is still undetermined as the police crash reconstruction unit continues its investigation.

It's amazing that people are so insensitive. The report says alcohol MAY have been a factor. In any event a loved one lost is just that. My condolences go out to all families including the passenger in the back seat who is currently on life support. "Racism" will always be Virginia's downfall.

They had a child who will now grow up not knowing either parent. Regardless of race, this is a tragedy. I am waiting on the name of the injured passenger. Anyone know who it was? No news outlet seems to have reported it yet.

Nada and Devin were amazing people. They were always willing to help and look out for those that needed it. Both Nada and Devin looked out for me when no one else would. They both would give their last dollar to help when needed. Obvious DWI, Lagree, 496, MR GFR pay attention to your own lives and find something better to do rather than talking about things you know nothing about. Nada and Devin were two of the most down to earth, loyal, genuine, and respectable people you would have EVER met, if you knew them. It's sad a tragedy happened and yall got nothing better to do besides sit on this site and make comments on whatever you can. For those that are commenting on the two individuals that lost their lives, shame on you. Yes, alcohol may have played a factor, but, nonetheless, these people lost their lives. Most of all, their families are still grieving. For you to use sarcasm and to be glad that they are no longer on this planet, is down right wrong. What if this was your family member? How would you feel, or respond to the negative remarks that are said about your family/friend, especially, after they pasted away? Basically, what I'm trying to say is that if you have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all.

Nothing good happens at 3am. Also, the % of people driving drunk at 3am is VERY high. This is when most people have to leave clubs and bars.

Actually Devin worked 2 jobs to support his children he was the most amazing guy I have met he was always there for his family and friends he has came to my rescue numerous times whether him and Nada was married or not they had children and did a great job taking care of them so if that means they don't get respect then so be it they were great.
