My next door neighbor is constantly trying to get me to go with her one Sunday. I've looked at their website but can't quite figure out what religious affiliation this church most closely associates itself. What exactly is a spiritual church anyway?

Does anyone know something about this group? Is it worth my time?

It welcomes all demoninations under one flag I believe.

You'll get a lot of Evangelical double talk: give money, earth is 4,000 years old, give money, you must home school your kids, give money, all other religions are evil, give money, and, of course, you'll be asked to make a contribution.

Don't know anything about this one, but the Unity Church as a whole is a so-called "new thought" church embracing everything and everybody. Forget about the past and join in the great joy of working together to become better and better people in the present and in the future.

Harvest Bible Chapel was founded by someone convicted of forcible sodomy.

Unity Church of Oakton is certainly into totalitarianism and money grabbing, not sure about the sodomy.

It is well documented, that James Craig Summers, former firefighter and police officer, was both a founder of Harvest Bible Chapel and is also a convicted sex offender, having committed nonconsensual, forcible sodomy.

I'm sure you're spending the weekend listening to Jimmy Swaggart's stunning piano playing (he knows how to these things: a gliss down the keys, a descending gospel/blues scale, and bang out the I-IV-V progressions of he songs), writing checks, looking for cheap hookers in cheaper motels, writing checks, reading the special Jimmy Swaggart edition study Bible, writing checks, and, when doing your finances, making sure you have this month's tithe covered.

Unity Church of Fairfax is one of those spiritual, accept all, groovy, mellow types of churches. It's def not mainstream. They welcome gays and those that don't quite fit into society.

Do you mean Grace Sovereign or Grace Life? One is in Ffx, not sure about the other if it's the correct name.

We're probably talking about two different churches but for a contrast check out the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, uucf.org. which is in Oakton.
