Lee Hwy/Fairfax Blvd

When did Fairfax change Fairfax Circle to Fairfax Blvd? Or is it only for the circle area? I was there yesterday and only then noticed it, being I don't need to really read signs to know where I'm going.

Route 50 is named Fairfax Blvd within the City of Fairfax.

there is a "master plan" for fairfax city, to form five hubs/neighborhoods along 29 or 50, cant remember. basically fairfax circle, kamp washington, old town, hmm, cant remember the others. just google fairfax city master plan. renaming it "fairfax boulevard" was part of this plan. they are trying to make the city more trendy and pedestrian friendly. the renovation of old town was part of that.
