CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- A land conservation group has missed a deadline to submit materials necessary for Albermarle County officials to start reviewing an application for a proposed golf course.
Real estate mogul Donald Trump bought socialite Patricia Kluge's estate in September 2012. Trump's son, Eric Trump, said in July he was confident the golf course project would move ahead next to Trump Winery.
County planning chief David Benish told Trump representatives their special-use permit application had to address whether a golf course was consistent with an existing conservation easement on the property. The easement is held by the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, a group established by the General Assembly focusing on land conservation through protective easements.
The Daily Progress (http://bit.ly/1dDlKdk) reports Benish said a letter wasn't received from the foundation by last Thursday's deadline.
