The following additional incidents were also reported by the City of Fairfax Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Aug. 6 - Identity Theft: Around 2:13 p.m., a resident of the 4000 block of Chain Bridge Road reported that, on both June 28 and July 2, an unknown person had used his credit card to make unauthorized purchases in southern Virginia and in North Carolina.

Aug. 9 - Fraudulent Use of Identification: A security officer at the Home Depot at 3201 Old Lee Highway reported that, on three different occasions, a man had used altered identification in order to return items for a refund that it turned out he had stolen from the store. City of Fairfax officers obtained three warrants for the man's arrest.

Aug. 9 - Attempted Fraud: At 4:45 p.m., an employee of Splitz Ends at 11123 Lee Highway reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be from the power company stating that the business was past due on its electric bill. The caller demanded a money order be sent immediately or the power would be cut off. The employee verified with the power company that the bill had been paid and did not send the money order.

Aug. 11 - Counterfeiting: At 11:47 a.m., the manager of the Baskin Robbins at 10400 Fairfax Blvd. reported that an unknown male subject had presented a $100 dollar bill, which was subsequently determined to be counterfeit, in payment for a purchase, and had received change. The United States Secret Service was notified.

Aug. 11 - Shoplifting: At 4:34 p.m. a manager of the AT&T store at 11015 Lee Highway reported that that several unknown subjects had taken two cell phones from the store without paying and had left the area.

Aug. 13 - Assault Arrest: At 1:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disorderly subject who had assaulted the manager of The Lamb Center at 3220 Old Lee Highway and damaged property at the center, then walked away. The subject was located in the area and taken into custody. The 44-year-old transient was transported to the Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with assault and destruction of property. His bond was set at $2,000.

Aug. 16 - Assault: At 6:02 a.m. a 24-year-old male, who had been taken to an emergency care facility, reported that while he was walking along an unknown street in Fairfax City, possibly in the Fairchester area, he had been attacked by two or more male subjects and had later lost consciousness. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.
