WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A Woodbridge woman is charged after accusations of drunk driving and assault on a police officer.

Prince William County police say on Sunday at 8:41 p.m., a police officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Cuddy Lp and Sonora Dr in Woodbridge.

The officer determined that 51-year-old Pattie Eileen Jarrett-Sarpong of Woodbridge was under the influence of alcohol and attempted to arrest her. Police say that's when she struck the officer in his chest.

Jarrett-Sarpong was detained and charged with assault & battery on a law enforcement officer and driving while intoxicated, say police.

She is being held without bond.

Pattie Eileen Jarrett-Sarpong, 51, of the 15700 block of Tassia Lane in Woodbridge, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and driving while intoxicated.
