Another Gun Owner Off's Himself and Family Members
Posted by: Gun Nutty ()

Police say a 36-year-old Fairfax County man fatally shot his mother-in-law before killing himself in his Skyline Towers apartment Monday morning.

Officers were called to the building in the 5500 block of Seminary Road in Bailey's Crossroads shortly before 10 a.m. In a 23rd floor apartment, they found the bodies of Anand Venkata and his mother-in-law, 62-year-old Lakshmi Bhat of North Carolina.

A weapon was also found inside the apartment.

There are no records of previous 911 calls to that apartment, News4's Mark Segraves reported.

A witness told Segraves that he heard a woman screaming and as many as five shots fired. Police would only say that multiple shots were fired.

Several residents of the building called 911.

Authorities said the apparent murder-suicide is not related to a Friday incident at the apartment complex, when police were called to respond to a person making threats against someone else in the complex.

I might disagree with his actions, but I fully support his right to own firearms. It was his right, granted by our Constitution.

I'd go a step farther and say give guns to mentally unstable people then they can off themselves and the idiots around them.

Not sure, but it has been test fired at least five times.

Having a gun in the house increases your chances of killing yourself or a family member 76%. You also triple your chances of spending 10 or more years in prison.

True!

And it's always your right to own firearms. Even if you are going to kill your self, it's your choice to do what you want with your own body.

"If you have a gun, everybody in your home is more likely than your non-gun-owning neighbors and their families to die in a gun-related accident, suicide or homicide."

Well no shit. This fits for all kinds of things. Here some examples--

If I drive drunk, I am more likely to be involved in a drunk driving accident then somebody who does not drive drunk.

If I fly in an airplane, I have more of a chance of dieing in a plane crash then somebody that never flies.

If I ride a bicycle then I am more likely to be killed in a bike accident then somebody who does not ride a bike.

This guy could have just as easily threw the bitch off the balcony and jumped. or I am sure there was least one knife in the apartment. People who have determined to kill somebody can do it even without a gun if they decide to.

Nothing but medical articles. Of course you have a greater chance of being killed by a gun than if you dont have one. What they dont tell you is your chance with is something like .0000015 percent as opposed to .0000000000015 percent. Youre talking about no risk vs no risk basically which is why they use percentages comparing them instead of telling you the actual risk.

If your irresponsible and an idiot you have a greater chance, if you arent your chance is the same.

All they did was start at a conclusion and work backwards to justify things that are statistically insignificant

Clearly, you're an idiot. Regardless, try to follow this:

Shooting someone is extremely easy, particularly on impulse. Point gun, pull trigger and you’re done. It involves virtually not effort, strategy, technique, skill, etc. Any idiot can shoot someone dead without a thought.

Wrestling a grown woman out of an apartment through a window or off a balcony takes A LOT of effort. Strangulation takes A LOT of effort. Bludgeoning takes A LOT of effort. Stabbing takes A LOT of effort. All of these methods also require planning & some skill.

Had ol' Anand not been armed with a un, it is far, far less likely that his wife's mother would be dead.

I see the liberal who started this thread is bit by the same bug that spreades misleading lies as his main stream liberal sources.

"off's himself and family member's" - plural as if he killed several family members and not just one.

"Another Gun owner.." - suggests that its law abiding owners of guns running around "offing" people in droves. Using gun owner places an air of responsible ownership on the offender. Instead of calling him a lunatic who had a gun, or someone who had obtained a gun , for all we know it could have been illegaly obtained.

Oh and on that note since this OP is such an asshole and likes to make sweeping generalizations, I'll make one of my own. Ahem...not only might the gun have been illegal the killer himself runs a good chance of being illegal (or atleast not yet a citizen) given the foreign names and well even before I read the names I can tell you no 36 y/o American born gun toting red neck would live in that building and certainly not with his ole lady and his mother in law.

Its rotten from top to bottom yet this ass clown wants to talk about n"Gun Owners"

Step 1 - define the problem - you shit bird.

What does 'spreades' mean nad why is it misleading?

Yes, having written the signular 'member' would have changed the entire post. Dumbass.

Do you pay any attention to the news? Several times each week there are news stories about the death of a member of a gun-owning household. Wake the fuck up!

Wow, you're such a douchebag!

Lakshmi Bhat was the widow of an othorthopedic surgeon from NC. She was visting her daughter & son-in-law in Falls Church when the incident occured.

People with 'foreign names' can be AMericans, too, dumbass.

You are a fucking dumb ass if you think it takes skill to stab somebody with a knife or beat somebody with a blunt object to death. It happens everyday in this country. It takes more skill to know how to work a gun then it does to use a kitchen tool or a baseball bat.

We are know you are going to argue this because you are just a retarded gun hater.

And no matter how the mother in law died, I am sure the bitch drove the guy to it.

Does anyone have any insight as to what pushed them this far to where he shot his mother-in-law?

I will define what "spreades" aka spreads means if you can tell what a "nad" means.

I'm a dumbass? Well actually yes it would have changed the meaning of the headline. It's simply misleadedng. How old are you girl? Pre or Poste menopausal?

Well your cursing is a nice touch. Now the question is, do you actually watch the news in between your workout at curves and episodes of Real housewives of...

For every death of a member of a "gun owning household" - whatever that attempts to prove - there are dozens and dozens of innocent people killed with various tools who did not own guns. They deserve it less or more?

Well duh, of course having a gun in a home is huge safety issue. If you have a gun in a house... yes it can go off accidentally and kill some body. Yes, some drunk family member or kid might end up killed.

While it does HIGHLY increase the chances of a person in the house being killed by a gun accident it also provides protection.

Would you rather risk a dead family or have protection from a burglar.
