The suspect allegedly fired a gunshot and demanded drugs from the victim, Prince William County Police said.
A Woodbridge man reportedly fired a gun while trying to steal marijuana from an acquaintance, Prince William County Police said.
Police are still looking for Dion Langley Phoenix, 21, of no fixed address, on charges of robbery, attempted malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Officers responded on Thursday at 12:58 a.m. to the report of a robbery, where Jesse Morgan Mossey, 21, of Reardon Lane in Woodbridge, reported that he had been robbed. He reported that Phoenix pulled out a gun, demanded drugs and assaulted him.
"The accused then fired a gunshot towards the victim before taking his car keys and a pair of sunglasses from the victim’s vehicle. The accused then fled the area on foot," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said in a press release.
Police said that after Phoenix fled, Mossey called a female acquaintance to hide the marijuana in her car. After officers investigated the incident, they charged Mossey with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Phoenix, who is still at large, is described as black, 5'11", 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
