I heard elliot talking about releasing Shantytown details today on the air. There is NO information about shantytown anywhere on the internet (except for some lame pictures of 2004's event) and I'm wondering if anyone caught the details.

shantytown is at nissan pavillion this year...i can't remember the date but it's sometime next month. $1 a beer and it goes to charity.

They started that like 5 years ago and everybody came and set up tents and partied in the DC101 parking lot for like a week. It's gotten a little lamer over the last few years (like only lasting one day recently) but it's a big fun drunk fest with lots of beer and bands and stuff .. and nobody drives home because they all have tents to crash in. Sweet!

Yeah, that's the general gist I got - basically Elliot or someone couldn't go home or needed to provide someone with a place to live and they just holed up around the dc101 office for a few days and invited people to join them. They said that in 2001, they only did it for a day because of the September 11 incident and then again shortened it to a day because of the sniper in 2002. Since then they've just kept it at one day.
Looks like a good time for this year.
