Hey everyone, I'm new to the area having moved here from Maryland. My hobby is photography and since I don't know many people, I was wondering if you all had any tips and tricks. I'm looking for photographic clubs, good online resources, anything. Flickr groups, local galleries, stuff like that too. I had an equivalent of this site back in Maryland for local wildlife. Photographers and bird watchers would notify people where certain species were, like rare birds. I miss that. I shoot mostly wildlife, so the endless highways, government buildings and aluminum siding is or no interest to me.

All the way from Maryland? Wow - you must be a brave soul. What happened - did you get tired of the nanny-state/socialist politicians and decided to move here, vote for leftwingers again, and ruin Virginia too?

Try a park, that's your best bet. Although 6X is right, used to see a giant buck hangin out by the street every morning down near Yeonas Park when I lived in Vienna.

Try the Northern Virginia Photography Society. I think they meet once a month at the Gas company.
