ASHBURN, Va. -
A Loudoun County Public Schools teacher has been charged after being found intoxicated at an Ashburn, Va. school Monday, according to police.
Police have charged 47-year-old Michael L. Hitzges, of Ashburn, with drunk in public.
Police say a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officer was notified by Broad Run High School personnel that a teacher was possibly under the influence of alcohol in the school.
Hitzges is a driver's education instructor for Loudoun County Public Schools and has been at Broad Run High School since 2004.
Hitzges is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
