WTF is the deal with fuckers driving 20 mph above the speed limit on telegraph rd right near Ft. belvoir? Speed limit is 45 mph and I get passed going 60 all the time. Military meat heads? Telegraph rd used to be pretty chill until the last few years.

My philosophy is that rather than rush and speed to where I want to go, I leave a few minutes early (doesn't take much) and I drive leisurely, perhaps 5 mph over the speed limit at most. If I'm on a single lane highway and there are people behind me, I might go 10mph over the limit so I'm not blocking other people. Generally though I drive calmly and relaxed, and scratch my head at the people racing to get somewhere. It's just not worth the stress, especially when driving in traffic is a daily necessity in the DC area.
You openly admit to doing 60 in a 45 and yet you take public beef with people going faster than you.
Your beef would be what - that You break the law and put other people in danger but take issue with people who do the very same thing but do it just a little bit faster than yourself?!
That's like saying you have sex with 15 year old girls - but take issue with pedophiles who screw girls who are 14 years, 11 months, and 29 days old. I don't think the underlying issue is the unit of measurement or the metric, it's the whole fucking concept.
Suggestion - you stop worrying about how everyone else is driving and just keep your limited cognitive thinking and motor skills focused on driving your own vehicle in a sane manner within 5 mph proximity of the posted speed limit.
It appears that doing that alone is way too close to exceeding your limited processing capacity.
Driving from point A to Point B safely is a simple process. Just drive and obey the rules.
Your taxes ensure someone else is worried about enforcing the rules of the road. If you see something really bad, pull over and call 911. The pull over part is important. We don't want you to try thinking and operating a motor vehicle at the same time because you would fuck that up too.
Bitches just be hatin that my government job pays me to facebook all day long so that I can leave everywhere late so that I make use of my German engineered god-like powers to RUN YOU OFF THE ROAD

No, only tax evasion advice... since we are all so stinkin rich.... LoLz...... o_0........
I hate that area. Too many idiots in gas guzzlers who think they are important who think they can do whatever they want even if it puts others at risk when really they are just idiots who are overcompensating.

You are certainly in the minority around here among the abundance of self-important assholes, but it is a sane minority of us who realize that tailgating, making dangerous passes, and driving 20 over to get where you need to go does not save enough time to justify the effort and stress. Many times I run into the fucknuts who pass me in their road rage frenzy at the next light down the road. I can't help but crack a smile as they stare straight ahead with a look of demented frustration on their faces. It must be a sad existence to be so obsessed with shaving two minutes off your commute.

Sane Driver - Whilel I can see how you misunderstood the original post I think a third grader could decipher what the OP meant. Obviously he/she can't be driving 45 "and" getting passed doing 60 so he/she must have meant that he/she was doing 45 and getting passed by others doing 60.
"Suggestion - you stop worrying about how everyone else is driving and just keep your limited cognitive thinking and motor skills focused on driving your own vehicle in a sane manner within 5 mph proximity of the posted speed limit."
The real suggestion should be to pay attention to what is going on around you and stop thinking it is your job to govern the flow of traffic. If people want to go faster then get out of the way and let them pass. Unless there is some major prize money for getting to the Starbucks first why do you care how fast others are driving? Just be aware of cars approaching at a high rate of speed and get out of the way. The cops will catch them eventually and if you are that bent out of shape over it then go apply to be an officer.
"Best thing you can do when somebody's tailgating - slow the fuck down."
I agree, if you slow down enough I'll have the chance to pass you on the shoulder and piss you off. Then you can spend the rest of your day thinking about that "asshole" that passed you on the shoulder.

...but I've really done that. I like watching the reaction in the rear view mirror. Hope it made the slow poke's day. It's much better than the one I see when I lane switch 2 lanes to the right to pass the hogging ass in the left lane who keeps speeding up to prevent you from getting in front of him.
I used to pass people whenever I got chance, especially if i thought it would piss them off. However, As I looked over to sneer I rarely saw anyone give me a thought, much less a look. I'd feel foolish to take things so personally as they pulled up behind me at the next light.
I find it so much more positve to leave a little early in the morning, sip my coffee, and let others frustrate themselves. life is too short for such trivial matters.

Wait a second here. We rich people paid for that road that you are driving on. You're lucky we don't use the tax evasion advice we were given and hide our money elsewhere... without our taxes you would not have a road to drive on.
Its my right to drive as fast as I fucking want to. I basically own the roads because of the insanely high taxes I pay. Anyways, where else can I max my speedometer at 220 mph? Maybe you should learn drive faster or not drive at all, you simple-minded peasant.
Good luck with that. One Fairfax County police officer in an unmarked car you don't see and you'll have a reckless driving ticket and be facing huge fines and maybe even jail time.
