Tachibana's in McLean is the best in the entire DC area, I think. It's $. Go to the bar on a Thu, get a nice beer, some sake, and a mound of sushi. Shit is cash money.

Tachibana in McLean is undeniably the best sushi restaurant in the DC area and a top 5 in North America.

Their spicy scallop hand roll absolutely rulz the planet. Nothing comes close to it anywhere.

Walk in any day of the week and check out who is eating there - mostly high income Japanese from all over the DC metro area.

Owner is Japanese, an avid fisherman, and he serves high quality sushi with fantastic service.

In a different lifetime I was a "regular" there even though it's 20+ miles from where I live/lived. To say their sushi can be REALLY fresh is an understatement - I have eaten scallop that was still moving...

Tachibana is really good, haven't been out there in a long time cause ew, McLean. In Vienna, check out Yirasai - it's right off of Maple / 123 and it is SO GOOD! Best taste and best price. Seriously. I feel like it's blasphemy to go anywhere else at this point.

They have a Super Crunchy Spicy Yellowtail roll that has asparagus and tempura crunchies and yummm.

For solid sushi that is also not going to make you bankrupt I would go to Sushi Yoshi on Church St in Vienna. Nice outside patio when its good weather too.

Matsu in Centreville or Wasabi in Tysons Corner Mall are both worth looking into in my opinion.
