It's being hyped by the local news because it gets good ratings. Fear gets people's attention, they tune in to the local stations, the local stations pump up their fear, so they stay tuned in, and they get to charge more for their advertisements.

It's just rain and wind. Make sure your gutters are clear. Take in or secure objects that can become flying projectiles. Have basic stuff on-hand like batteries, flashlights, water, etc. That's it. If you live near a flood-prone area, maybe get some sandbags, or cover your basement window-wells with plastic. Not much else you can do, or should do.

Already have every TV on, every light, every kitchen appliance, opened up all the hot water spigots in the house, running the dishwasher, washer and dryer, and turned the A/C down to 65 degrees. Did I miss anything?

And remember, if the power goes out before you have a chance to get everything on, be sure to run around the house turning everything on, so you'll know when the power comes back on.

Good morning.

This storm will be used to declare marshal law. When he loses the election, Obama will pronounce the election results invalid since all his peeps could not get to the polls due to storm aftermath. He will refuse to leave office.

In preparation of the oncoming weather even, hurricane 'Sandy', the National Park Service has determined that it will proceed with planting of the 28 foot tall Colorado Blue Spruce National Christmas tree.

Upon reviewing the area surrounding the planting site, it was determined that there were not enough large objects in loose soil that could be carried by the expected high winds to cause damage to surrounding structures. It was also determined during the disaster preparedness sessions that the owner of the tree farm who has the contract to supply the National Christmas Tree has a surplus of trees and could use the extra money.

Plans have already been made for replanting of another 28 foot Colorado Blue Spruce within two weeks of the storm's passing. The date for the subsequent replanting is yet to be determined.
