Accident on Braddock Road

Several cars hit each other. Gas spilled. Fire fighters sprayed chemicals on the gas. Braddock and 123 at GMU.

I was sitting on 123 waiting to turn left on Braddock west. I was 2 cars behind the car involved. That car turned left into oncoming car on 123. That collision landed into a car stopped eastbound on Braddock road. 3 cars involved.

Oh how sad...it was definitely a hard hit between the two vehicles. The one car on 123 was going pretty fast through the light.

It happened last night around 630ish. I was 2 cars back too. I heard tires squeal and saw the car hit what I think was a minivan and its lights flashed out and engine smoking. The other car looked like it also side swiped another car and then I saw people running toward the car. I was not in a place where I could pull over and I had two 6 yr olds in the car. Felt so bad... it looked terible. Does anyone else have any further info on the crash? I was searching news reports and local papers but nothing...

This is one of the worst intersections in Fairfax. Two very overcrowded roads where an overpass should've been built years ago. There are serious accidents at this intersection at least once a week.

Anyone know the names of the people involved? Or where to find more information? I've tried looking for information on the accident, but this is the only place I seem to be able to find anything. Seems to me this kind of accident is news worthy...

What they need to put there is a giant roundabout with several hundred rumble strips and epilepsy-inducing flashing lights. Yeah, it would confuse the heck out of drivers, but it would make them quit texting, stay alert and slow down for a minute.

A friend of mine who lives in Bristow posted on his fb that his neighbor died in an accident last night. I have a feeling it was the same guy. Very sad as the deceased has a wife and 2 small children.

There is no money in the VDOT budget. It went to build several cloverleaf intersections in Bugtussle, SW VA

They're looking for witnesses. There's a sign up near the area with the phone number to call. I'd imagine since you were so close, you've probably already given your information, but just thought I'd mention it.
