Police activity on Georgetown Pike

Saw about 15-20 of Fairfax County's finest in cruisers and motorcycles on Georgetown Pike yesterday (Friday) late afternoon/early evening. They were literally parked along every intersection for a 1/4 mile. They were packing up and leaving by the time I drove through. This was about a 1 west of the 495 exits.

In addition to the obligatory donut comments, anyone know what was going on there?

Yep, I saw them too last evening, on bikes and in cars at side streets connecting to Georgetown Pike but I thought it was for more like a mile or so.

And this morning around 9:45, saw a couple of buses with a huge police escort consisting of cars and bikes going up north on I-270. I wonder if they are related and whether it was some politicians going somewhere for some good 'ole vote-begging.

Friday night Obama had a "private" fundraiser hosted by Earl Stafford who lives off Georgetown Pike. More on this Earl fella can be found on Wiki.
