WASHINGTON - Alexandria authorities are asking for the public's help in finding several suspects they believe burglarized seven car dealerships since February.

Alexandria detectives say several suspects were involved in the burglaries, and that one or two of them operates as a lookout while another two enter the dealerships.

From Feb. 27 through June 2, Jack Taylor Toyota was burglarized four times, police say. The first burglary attempt failed. The suspects stole cash from a safe in the other three incidents.

On June 28, two suspects hid inside Landmark Honda until closing, then attempted to pry open the safe. They failed and left without taking anything.

On July 9 and 14, the suspects hit Modern Motors. The first burglary attempt was unsuccessful. On July 14, they broke in through a bathroom window and removed a safe that contained cash.

Anyone with information is asked to call (703) 746-6804.

Here is surveillance footage of the burglaries:

Probably a former employee who got fired (they tend to employ a lot of shady people in most dealerships- think about it) and is robbing to make up for it.

Either that, or a customer who bought a car with cash, saw where they put said cash, and came back to "Get a refund" since the car that was sold to them was so shitty (think buy-here-pay-here type lots).

Now that this is news, expect this type of crime to increase. As you can see, the cameras showed who did it, but it does NOTHING to deter theft. These companies that deal in large amounts of cash should know better!! BUt then again, if they are too cheap to fix the cars they sell properly, they probably won't invest in any security.

It COULD also be an inside scam for the insurance money....

Parts department does. A lot people still pay in cash because they have no credit or are illegal.
