Hay Zeus is correct. GW Forest. There are some good mudding spots out there. Yeah, its a bitch to get to, but if you get out there early, plenty of fun for a good pickup or Jeep. I've done it, and had a shitload of fun. The dudes at the carwash were not amused :)

Haven't been down there for years and not "mudding" but there were at least some trails that you could drive down at Quantico. If it's rained there were some deep enough holes that you could get stuck. You needed a public base pass at the time. Don't know what's required/if they still let people on or not.

Some years ago there was a great set of hills and trails behind Edison HS. From the beltway, just take Van Dorn Street to Franconia Road, where it turns into a dirt road. I haven't been back there in a long time, but it was a great place in its time.
