It's his biggest fundraiser every year.

Virginia Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-11th) hosted his 18th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Fete on Friday at the Kena Shriners Temple in Fairfax. The event, which is the largest annual Democratic gathering in Northern Virginia, sparked the 2012 reelection campaign for Connolly, who faces primary challenger Will Radle before November's general election.

The fete began in 1995 in Connolly's Fairfax home, but the festivities soon outgrew the venue, and the Kena function hall has been home ever since to hundreds of the party faithful. The menu: Strictly Irish—corned beef, cabbage and potatoes and beer.

"President Obama, Tim Kaine and I are all on the same ticket," said Connolly as he showed off new campaign bumper stickers to the audience. "This event is my largest fundraiser of the year, and it's a very important one because of my reelection."

It is not clear how much the Connolly campaign raised.

U.S. Rep. Jim Moran (D-8th) was also in attendance.

Rep. Gerry Connolly speaks at his 18th Annual St. Patrick's Day Fete at Kena Temple on Friday, March 16, 2012 and U.S. Rep. Jim Moran (D-8) with Steve Bunn, chair of the Lee District Democrats, at Rep. Gerry Connolly's 18th Annual St. Patrick's Day Fete at Kena Temple on Friday, March 16, 2012.

It's simply amazing to me that Gerry is able to keep his mustache as white as it is. After all, with him having his nose up the ass of every union leader he can find I would think that it would be a bit more brownish.

Gerry and his libturd cronies will get plenty of money from the corrupt unions. Just when will start seeing giant banners put up by the Firefighters? It's so helpful to be reminded that they *always* support the Socialists.

Kick his what? Hilarious. Colonel Commando is way too delusional to win. One of the reasons he claims to be running is because Keith Fimian came within a whisker of beating Gerry the last time. Apparently the Colonel is suffering from MRE withdrawal because he's forgotten that the 11th has been redistricted. The Va. legislature designed it specifically to corral as many Democrats as possible. That's why it starts in Reston. Only the southern and least populous part of the district is reliably Republican. Fortunately, there aren't enough retired doughboys in Springfield, jarheads in Quantico or religious fanactics in PW to outvote the heavily Democtrat precincts to the north. Moreover, since a lot of the independents are also federal employees, they'll vote for Gerry to try and keep from getting screwed even more by the GOP. The Colonel's role in this election will be to throw himself on the wire so that Gerry can step over him and get reelected. Deal with it.

Libs do not vote with a brain. They are sheep and vote how they're told by their masters. That's how Marion Barry, Jim Moran, and dozens of other corrupt pieces of trash get elected again and again. Gerry could be with us for life.

Give Gerry money to get re-elected? I think as a paying customer who is unsatisfied with the job done I want my money back. He is a poster child for everything wrong about Congress. A true Obama boot licker

You do not speak for Federal employees. They are not happy at all over the
Obamacare fiasco.
