Carl Hensley-LBSS Hoops Coach

Does anyone know whatever happened to Coach Hensley from LB? He was the boys basketball coach back in the 70's when it first opened. A heck of a good guy...

Carl "Hooks" Hensley. Yes, a very nice, gracious southern gentleman. Still occasionally attends LB games, sitting with the likes of Bob Carson, Don McCool, Jim Warren and others. so I assume he lives in the area.

I enjoyed playing for him except for the way he made us shoot free throws by squatting down as far as you could go, knees insanely bent, then a methodical uplift with an exaggerated follow through.

Wow, now there's a name I haven't heard in 20 years! I don't know what happened to him after LBSS. I believe Coach Hensley's last season coaching the Bruins was when NBA-er, now retired, Hubert Davis graduated in '88.

Yet another ex-Bruin checking in to say that I, too, remember Coach Hensley. I had him for 8th grade PE (IIRC). The only way we got an A was if we took showers after PE. I'm pretty sure no one got an A that year!

Do any of you old timers remember Ed Henry, Robinson (and other) football coach late 70's early 80's???

Ah yes...the ol' "take a shower with the rest of the gym class to get an A." I remember someone sayin' to Hensley, "Aw, c'mon Coach! Only fags take showers together..."

Without missing a beat Coach said, "Don't forget the soap there Limpy McWrist..."
