Best or worst Starbucks in Fairfax?

Personally I like the one over near the County government center, they have always been nice efficient. Where is your favorite, or least favorite Starbucks here in Fairfax?

SBux within the shopping center at the intersection of FFX Co. Pkwy and Huntsman Blvd. is good.

The "baristas" at Starbucks in Safeways are actually employees of Safeway ... not starbucks. That's a big reason why they aren't nearly as good as the regular stores.

Next to Ho's Dynasty in Burke is good, manager's name is Mike & he's a good dude.

On Duke St. next to Noodles & Co. near Telegraph Rd. is good.

Beacon Mall (old Beacon Field Aiport) next to Lowe's is good.

Old Keene Mill next to Whole Foods is terrible. Always a long wait & nowhere to stand.

Chantilly near Willard Rd. was awful a year ago, I haven't been back since in over 12 months though.

Reston at South Lakes is okay, if there's a crowd don't even try to stick around it's hopeless. If there aren't too many people waiting you will have a good experience though.

The last part of your statement leads me to believe you are NOT talking about the barista at the Pan Am Starbucks (the real one, not the one in the Safeway). The Pan Am Starbucks used to have a big tall hairy TV/crossdresser. He'd stand there, complete with a dress on but very little makeup, and make your latte.

Welcome to the extreme world of PC, edgy even for a Starbucks.

That one seems to get a lot of Aramaic and Arabic speaking taxi drivers hanging there all day long. The whole parking lot is full of yellow Crown Victorias.

Blessed are the murderous.

Those in-store locations are the worst. It can be a busy Saturday morning and they'll only have one person working, and half the time I suspect they don't make the drinks right (forgetting to use non fat milk or sugar-free syrup).

I can't think of a 'best' one, probably one where they have enough people working to get you in and out of there quickly.

And we laugh.... I bet there is some truth to that what with the Taliban Towers across the street.

The Safeway at McLean Commons has one that is almost always slow and poorly staffed. I went in there last summer for just a plain old coffee, and they were OUT. I had to stand there and wait for them to brew it. That's completely unacceptable for any place that sells coffee.

Really people, is there such a huge difference between which one you go to, they all have the dumbass highschool kid pretending he's drank coffee before and thinking he knows how to make you just the perfect blend. Let me tell you a secret, you can take horseshit and put the amount of syrup they put in their 6 dollar drinks and it would taste the same... come to think of it that would explain the taste.

Unfortunately, yes there are differences, just like at any establishment that sells food or drink. Depends on the store's manager, the employees, and any number of other factors. As for whether you like their products or not, that's a matter of preference. Some people love sushi, others think it tastes like goo. Different strokes for different folks.

But Starbucks does a serve as a convenient place to meet with people for a short time, regardless of what they serve.

The Target locations are pretty bad too.

I think that's where all of the D-student employees end up.

Starbucks near the government center has some really cute girls working there. The one in Fair Lakes doesn't have much talent. The one in Fair Oaks Mall is always a mess, slammed with 45 soccer moms bitching about their quad venti suckalottacocka.

They write names on the cups when it is busy so retards like you don't grab the wrong drink because you can't remember what you ordered.

For three years, although that was about five years ago. Like all retail/food service jobs, there are cool customers (usually the regulars), and then there are the idiots/assholes. It comes with the territory. The only thing you can do is laugh about it later.

All of the people who are hating on Starbucks coffee are entitled to their opinions, but Starbucks treats their employees quite well.

Besides, Starbucks sells more than just brewed coffee.

Aramaic??? WTF! Aramaic is just shy of becoming a dead language. I highly doubt there is a starbucks in the DC area loaded down with Aramaic speakers.

HA! It's like Meeper said, I meant Amharic, not Aramaic. If you ever want to hear a variety of Semitic languages, just go to that Skyline Starbucks. It is filled with Middle Easterners and Sub-Saharan Africans.

Just came across this: http://lorton.patch.com/articles/fort-belvoir-starbucks-charges-employees-thousands-for-drinks

Looks like this Starbucks is charging some of their employees for using company product for their personal use.

"Starbucks manager Stacy McDonald worked at the Fort Belvoir location for more than five years. As of Wednesday, she was fired after the company accused her of stealing $3.75 worth of merchandise while on the job"

Apparently this Starbucks is run by the "Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES)"

Holy shit. I used to go there back when they first opened, it wasn't bad for something run by AAFES.

The whole loss prevention investigation sounded stupid, AAFES and Starbucks both had their policies in place. AAFES allows unlimited free drinks for the employees, Starbucks allows one per shift.......yet AAFES is the one taking issue with the employees "stealing drinks."

How the hell did they arrive at the conclusion that one employee stole over $13,000 worth of beverages? They didn't start this investigation until two or three months ago.

The Worldgate Starbucks in Herndon, VA is the best Starbucks. The employees are friendly, unless you're an asshole to them...then you will have to listen to their cheeky sarcastic remarks (learned that the hard way). Now im a regular there and they hook it up. Seems to be mostly guys on the night crew and those dudes will give you a laugh
