Fairfax County Ron Paul SignBomb

George Mason Patriots United For Ron Paul. We are also supporting the growing number of high schools in Fairfax county starting Ron Paul signbombs.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fairfax-County-VA-Ron-Paul-Sign-Bomb/160670294005840

That's right, we want each and every county in your state to have a sign bomb. I've often passed people holding signs as I enter the parking lot to vote and think, "that accomplishes nothing." However, with Ron Paul, oddly enough, it does. Many people still do not know who he is and even more do not know what he is about. By sign bombing the country we will be getting his name out there, and with signs like "Google Ron Paul" we will be guiding the masses towards a better understanding of Ron Paul and his message. We may be supporting the only candidate that will benefit from us holding up signs. I say we take advantage! Please, PLEASE get involved! If you are interested in being a leader for your county, get in contact with me. We need leaders for every single county in Virginia! Check out this site to see which counties do not have leaders yet. Please contact me (Devon Mack) if you're interested in leading your county! http://s369263195.onlinehome.us/Body/county.php?stateId=51

yes, Ron Paul is right.

We should definitely revert EVERYTHING back to the way it was when he was a young lad. The global economy works the exact same now as it worked in 1749.

The unintended social consequences of cancelling every existing Amendment wouldn't render 200 yrs of progress obsolete, nor would it send the entire globe's economy into complete chaos either.

but hey, you'd be able to die of your smack addiction in peace.

/sarcasm off

Ron Paul has a few good ideas, but you really need to look at the practical results of his suggestions. They're all founded on some asinine idea that everyone is a good person and would do the right thing (the right thing being defined by our current set of Constitutional amendments).

The problem with this is that this has already been proven to not be the case, by the very existence of the Amendments. If everyone were decent enough to treat women & minorities equally because it's right, we wouldn't need an amendment REQUIRING them to do so or risk criminal punishment.

I haven't figured out if he's just enormously naive or playing the wolf in sheep's clothing.

Theres something about him that makes me think he knows EXACTLY what he's doing.

In all seriousness, I read once that he never actually expected/expects to get nominated, but he runs to bring topics that are important to him to the forefront of the campaign discussion. And he's done a damn good job of that.

Ron Paul merely believes that this same principle applies to government. Not everyone is a good person, therefor the same problems inherent in humanity are everpresent in government. But the government is almost never held accountable for its actions.
Also, I don't think you have enough of a grasp on the bill of rights/its amendments.

1. The NDAA does not authorize the indefinite detention of US citizens by the military. That was language was stripped out because of a veto threat by the POTUS.

The fact that this idea is still floating around the web, influencing people and making them thing the POTUS is thanks to various groups on social media purposely and continuously putting this garbage out there.

2. Ron Paul believes things like the federal government should have no hand in establishing federal civil rights. He believes we should throw those amendments out and leave it up to the states. Given his racist & deragatory statements and his infamous racist newsletters of the past, I think his motivations for this are clear. This isn't about being a constitutionalist, it's about turning back the social progresss of the last 150 yrs to a time he was more comfortable with, personally.

He plays all huckleberry fin innocent naive good ole boy, but he's really sly as a fox.

The one thing I can't figure out... the most progressive & intelligent part of the constitution is that it's writers knew times would change, moraes would change, expectations would change and people would change and it built in a mechanism... DEFINED BY THE CONSTITUTION that allows for updating the document.

If Ron Paul is such a strict constitutionalist, what's his problem with all of these amendments?

They're part of the Constitution, they were placed into law according to the requirements of the Constitution, they were voted into law according to the requirements of the Constitution, they are by all means part of the overall Constitution so I don't understand...

"I'm a strict Constitutionalist... except for those pesky peices about making sure people aren't discriminated against because of their gender or skin color, that is just WRONG, the Federal government has no business saying that"

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/paulonomics-ron-paul-plans-taxes-spending-social-security-142130626.html

Ron Paul is no different than any of the other Republicans running.

He wants privatization of wide swathes of the federal government.

It's been a key Republican ideology for decades because it's a way to direct more money to whatever corporate lobbyist pays the best.

He wants to do privatize social security.

It's been a key Republican ideology for decades because it's a way to funnel more money into the stock market, artificially propping up overvalued businesses and funneling money into their coffers.

He wants to cut taxes for the wealthy.

His plan calls for reducing or removing taxes on capital gains & estates, which are the two key taxes the wealthy have to pay. Most wealthy people do not earn the bulk of their money via income, it's via capital gains and/or passing down of estates. Why do you think Republicans (and Ron Paul) have fought for so long trying to get rid of them.

He wants to reduce corporate governence

Another key republican ideology. Cut corporate governance and let them do whatever they need to do to make profits, regular people be damned.

The only thing different about Ron Paul's ideology is that he plays this good ole boy role and promotes everything like he's sticking to the constitution and giving us back our rights when he's really just feeding the average person to the wealthy & their corporations.

The kicker is that by the time people really get FUCKED by this, he'll already be out of office, and if he isn't... he'll just claim it's not the role of the federal government to intervene.

I used to think Ron Paul was just naive, the more I read up on him the more I realize he shouldn't be running for President, he should be running for an Oscar for his acting performance.

Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate that isn't big Washington as usual. Look at the mess that is in Washington right now. It's time we send a message that big Washington is out of touch with the main stream.

Ron Paul has the correct answers to tough questions. He's right about standing by the constitution and the way the country has been side tracked by special interest lobbyist groups.

Ron Paul, the only candidate that has the balls to fix the Washington mess!

So you would rather have Romney or Newt? These guys are worse than Obama. Romney and Newt both sponsored government mandated healthcare and take huge sums from lobbyists. Both Romney and Newt can be bought by any company.

Don't fall for his good ole boy hokie act.

Ron Paul is pushing the EXACT same agenda as every other Republican:

Reduce corporate taxes
Extend tax cuts for the wealthy
Reduce capital gains & estate taxes
Overturn Roe v Wade
Privatize Social Security
Privatize federal government
Reduce corporate governence
Undo climate-based regulations for corporations

The only places he differs is that:

He wants to go back to the gold standard
He openly insists all federal social progress/programs are unconstitutional
He claims he isn't a hawk on international diplomacy
Doesn't believe amendments to the Constitution are legal
He doesn't claim to care about same-sex marriage

No I wouldn't. Newt and Romney would be at the bottom of my list, but either one is an upgrade over Obama. The sad truth is that Romney is probably the most electable of the current group. This is no time for a moral victory, the nominee MUST be electable on a national level.

I actually like Ron Paul for the most part. But he will never even get close to the Pub nomination, forget about the presidency. The problem with Ron Paul is that he's 75% genius and 25% crazy. American voters can obviously tolerate a wide range of character flaws in their elected officials: Stupidity, incompetence, inexperience, sexual deviancy, dishonesty, corruption, etc. But not crazy. Crazy never gets elected.

Saying it and actually doing it are two different things. Republicans can't even pass a two month extension of tax cuts without wanting an oil pipeline. Don't kid yourself.

The problem with it is that trickle down economics has proven to be a complete & utter failure. It sounds good in theory but the obvious reality is that the water pools at the top.

Data from every source shows income disparity has grown 23% in this country since the early 80's, meaning the disparity between the top earners & the lower earners has widened... meaning the lower earners are earning less and the top earners are earning far more.

In other words, its NOT trickling down. The entire theory was a means of ushering in a period of hyper-corporate profitability, of which only the top earners have enjoyed.

As far as Social Security... our government as a whole (regardless of party) has proven incompetent and/or complacent in enacting meaningful reform in terms of corporate finance.

What this means is that they'll force everyone into the stock market, where you are sitting duck. Large swathes of people will be wiped clean of every dime they've saved and/or invested by companies who have no legal or ethical requirement to protect the individual and we'll see Enron over and over again where people are 50 yrs old and get wiped clean by a CEO who decides he's ready to cash out and retire.

As for privatizing federal operations... by far the most expensive and least functional means of getting anything done is by federal contracts. Contracting is only a viable means of accomplishing something if the task is short-term. If it is a long-term or continual operation is far more functionally and economically appropriate to have an employee.

You're right.

They fought for MONTHS & MONTHS about keeping the tax cuts for the wealthy* in place insisting it was the only way to turn our economy around (ie trickle down economics) and then turned around and fought for MONTHS & MONTHS to end the temporary payroll tax cut for the middle class ** because "the country can't afford it".

Fuckin scam artists. They cut taxes for everyone only in the sense that they do not discuss the specifics of the taxes they do cut.

* - The Bush tax cuts provided a marginal decrease for certain middle class, but the bulk of the cuts percentage & dollar wise were in capitals gains & estate taxes which are mostly applicable to the wealthy due to the fact that most wealthy make the majority of their money as capital gains, not payroll income.

IE. It might have saved me .05% of my income a year, but it saved Warren Buffet 25% of his

** Since the SS Payroll tax is a percentage of a payroll income, and since most wealthy do not earn the bulk of their income as payroll, this cut factors predominantly in the middle class with little to no impact to the wealthy.

It's because big corporations can't profit them.
