Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
I watched the school board meeting tonight. Bradsher, Gibson, & Wilson were praised by all the other members. By Evans, Reed, Moon, and even Hone! Really –did the elections mean nothing? Weren’t these board members pushed out for a reason? How can the remaining members sing their praises? Have they forgotten when they were advocates and this led to their election? I guess power changes people. This is ridiculous. Back to the 99%. We'll try again.

It's called civility. Of course, you don't understand.
Unfortunately you are probably right. Steve Hunt just gave praise as well -- and awards. Clearly no vote really matters. These people are all in the same privileged group.
Buh-bye Lizzy. Buh-bye Tessie. You two ugly evil witches can ride your broomsticks out. But don't come back. Buh-bye Stooey. You have too been defeated and rejected.

True. Civility implies some form of respect. Liz Bradsher and Tessie Wilson have not been respectful of students or families during their terms. The emails revealed how nasty they are. It's like they don't even like the students and families they are supposed to be representing.
Praising such individuals is spin. It has no real meaning. Silence would have been better.
Well the incoming President Obama graciously thanked the outgoing President Bush "for his service." This is just customary, even though Bush was one of the worst presidents ever and it will take many years to undo the harm he has done.

Riight, overcrowding other schools, schooling children in trailers and breaking up a community is so worth the $3 in your pocket. Besides, we are opening up a charter school which will be taxpayer funded anyhow. Put that in your pipe.

Yes, Wilson and Gibson announced their retirements over a year ago, before election posturing for 2011 was known by most people. Bradsher was forced to retire after her e-mails were revealed to show that she lied about the Clifton school closing.
Catherine Lorenze, who calls herself the Red Apple Mom and runs a website with that name, tried to promote candidates using what she learned from her bosses at Ten Capitol, but failed miserably after she admitted that she was just promoting herself as a "kingmaker."
The one candidate Lorenze helped who won was Democrat Megan McLaughlin, who was carried by a great get-out-the-vote effort by the Democrats for up-ballot elections. Her other candidates, all Republicans/Independents, did not succeed.
The other losers in the 2011 election were Dean Tisdadt and Jack Dale, as the entire school board - new and old - lost faith in them. Both will retire within the next year.

bradsher wilson and gibson were all humiliated out the door by their hideous actions revealed by foi act emails. ain't the public's fault their actions got opened up - nothing would have happened if they hadn't done it in the first place.
good riddance - liken it to terminex coming in and giving a good spray down. center and raney were a bonus.
icky.
