The high salary in this area leads to more assholes who think six figures is really something when it is not. An area so rich you have people on welfare driving BMWs and living in luxury condos.
My parents moved here before I was born, but I am a native and I lead a pretty normal and productive life...
I spend all day in the park writing poems on my type writer and using Fairfax Underground from my ipad. On nicer days in the spring and fall I drop acid before I go out, for inpiration's sake.
Unfortunately, I am currently unemployed; it is so damn hard to get up at 9am to look for a job. If my parents are late sending me my monthly check, OH boy... you wouldn't want to be on the other end of that phone call! I rip em a new one! Do you know how f-ing expensive it is to live in the city these days??
Lately I've been discussing world politics with the 99%ers in freedom plaza every morning over some Starbucks, it's been quite enlightening. If the cops ever try to bother me while I'm with my freedom fighting tent friends, I'll just tell them - "you better watch out buster, my father will have your badge for this! do you know who the fuck he is???"

I have always felt like there is a disproportionate amount of people here with Asperger's Syndrome than other areas. The social skills of many adults are just "off" IMO. I'm not talking entitlement or anger issues. I'm talking about peoples' inability to pick up on social cues and connect with others around them. I attribute it to many of the higher IQs and federal employees.
Its one of the negatives of living in northern virginia.

The DC area is just nasty. People are stuck-up, nasty, and generally a suspicious and unfriendly. At least New Yorkers have a charm about them, but DC residents? Nope.

I got on a city bus in Minneapolis once and everybody spoke to me
as I walked through the aisle. Strange but it felt good.
you can tell this is such an angry place by at least two things- the way they drive (the anger comes out through their angry, aggressive driving) and the comments here- I mean there are such sarcastic and obnoxious people (I mean the spelling freaks and sarcasm) this is the real NOVA, nasty and stupid.

So you don't know how to spell and you don't get minor sarcasm?
