I-66 & US 29 in Centreville

What is going on on the bridge that carries I-66 over US 29 in Centerville? There are jersey walls east bound in the right lane causing a lane shift to the left. It has been that way for quite some time and I couldn't find anything about it on the VDOT website?

Yes, there was a contractor in the area who was hiring illegals and then murdering them at the end of the jobs he took instead of paying them. The police received a tip that the bodies were dumped at that interchange so, VDOT is re-routing the road in order to exhume the remains.

A while back an oversize truck heading westbound on 29 hit the bridge span and caused damage to one of the beams. Rather than repair it, VDOT just shifted the lanes of 66 over to not place any stress on the beam. I don't know if they ever plan to fix it.

That was over a year ago. The area still has "Road Work" signs so cops can charge you more.
