Worth showing up in court for speeding fine?

Figure total fee is $148 for 16 over speed limit plus $62 court cost. Will they mitigate the fine based on driver's record?

You're going to spend 4 hours at the courthouse. At $210, if you're not making more than $52.50 an hour then it's best to pre-pay it. And no, there will be no mitigation.

I think it's $6 for each mile over the speed limit. The prepay amount should be $158, not $148 or $210.

From what I've seen a very good driving record plus a somewhat plausible story and the right judge or commonwealth attorney and perhaps you'll get it knocked down to something like failure to obey a highway sign. You'll still get a fine and court costs, but the fine might be less and the penalties might also. You will probably shell out $10 for parking plus lose at least a half day of work. So what is a "maybe" worth to you?

It was just the Lamb Center shuttle. They were transporting the guy arrested at FHS for trespassing back to his home in Midgetville to gather his belongings. He is also suspected in a number of murders related to day laborers who were hired, then not paid and finally murdered.

Yes, I think court costs stands regardless of whether you pay in advance. I guess you could offer to take an online traffic course or a driving course, but you're right back to costs that are comparable to the penalty, if not more.

Ah yes. Do you know of any good DUI lawyers perhaps?
