Police obtained a warrant for Edward George Russell, 23, in connection with the Aug. 9 robbery at a Sunoco gas station in Woodbridge.
In that case, officers were called to the station at 1260 Annapolis Way at 7:12 p.m., where employees reported two men walked into the store, and one of them approached the counter to make a purchase.
When the employee opened the cash drawer, the man displayed a handgun and grabbed the drawer, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
“Both men then fled the store to an awaiting vehicle being driven by a third unknown person,” he said.
No injuries were reported.
On Aug. 30, detectives obtained warrants charging Russell with robbery and use of a firearm in a felony, Perok said.
Detectives are still trying to identify the second robber, and locate Russell, whose last known address was in the 10700 block Castleton Street in Upper Marlboro, Md.
