Fairfax Fair (Celebrate Fairfax)

So the Fairfax fair is going on right now and I haven't been to one in years.
Should I bother going? Is there anything exciting? How are the rides? Better or worse than years past?

I'm sure it's not worth it. It's usually a mob scene and most of the stuff they have aren't worth dealing with the plethora of people there. And I really doubt the rides are all that great. You're probably better off taking the trip to Kings Dominion.

Important question: are there hot women there?

I've been watching the fireworks off my balcony and wondering what hot young ladies are in that mess. It's been many years since I've been, but I did not want to go back. Parking, lines, etc.

kklare, don't waste time.. the only hot women I saw were just for looking, or were "too young to be dressed that way" (like it matters to me, grass on the field and all)

BLUE OYSTER ROCKED MOTHERFUCKERS

20 minute solo-laden version of godzilla, they played a faithful version of reaper, and the rest of the set was really good

the only thing that sucked was the sound man, he was fucking levels on the guitars up all night

Economist,

I thought you were a college student. If you were learning anything, you'd know that you should write:

"If so, I wish I would have gone."

I noticed this morning that the Fairfax Fair has closed for good. I searched around a little this morning and could only find a posting on Don Bridge's website that said the FFX Board of Supervisors sold the fair to another entrepreneur so that they could concentrate on other locations. Anybody know anything else?

WTF are you talking about? The Fair is going on as usual. It's June 10-12.

The Smithereens headlined on stage in 1993!!... That's my favorite memory. Visited most years since and with little ones after getting married. Overall, a good time for taking the family. Parking has been a bit of a headache at times... but, that goes with this event type. It's worth the effort to see your kids enjoy the closest thing to a 'County Fair' in Fairfax. Yep, it will cost you some bucks. But, your kiddies will enjoy some rides, eat some funnel cakes and beg you to go back.

Before and After, if the kids are still little they might enjoy the Prince william county fair held in august much more like a real county fair than Celebrate Fairfax

PWC Fair! Like a real country fair with tattooed toothless womens and their brother...I mean hubbys tagging along dragging the childrens smoking cigs. Can go watch the smash'em up derby too.

I mean the animals were cool and all but the people watching was outstanding! It was hard to tell the carnies from the guests.
