+1
Unless your kid is a prodigy or your neighborhood pool has a bunch of prodigies your kid's age your kid will probably get more enjoyment from being on the neighborhood team. In theory teams are grouped by ability so that a division 1 team is supposed to have better swimmers than say a division 10 team, but there are plenty of cross-divisional meets and all stars are chosen by time, not program.

Ed swam for CUBU -- the guy who runs Burke Swim & Racquet club was his personal coach. I'm sure Ed learned plenty at OKM but let's face it, a summer swim league isn't going to turn you into the next Michael Phelps. And from what I hear, Ed's concentrating on his golf game now.

Actually, Ed is training for the 2012 Olympics. His nieces as well as sister are now members of OKM pool and they love it. His sister serves on the board there as well
