Another thread reminded me about this oddity: there are two Macy's at Fair Oaks Mall, both operating. I know one used to be a Hecht's, but why the heck did Macy's convert the store rather than shut it down? I can't believe both stores are profitable, and I wouldn't know which one to visit if I wanted to shop there. Someone noted one store has better stuff on sale than the other, but agian, how could they both earn enough to pay the rent? Anyone know the real deal?

The Macy's space that used to be Hecht's is under contract and since it is such a large space Fair Oaks and Macy's have not been able to fill the space. So they figure they mind as well have two stores in one mall then pay the rent and not get anything out of it. It is their hope to make the old Hecht's one a Macy's furniture store but they apparently are waiting for permits and money... so for now we get to watch people who are not from around here get confused while looking for their cars :)

Don't laugh - my wife has done this TWICE! Maybe one better, she did something similar last week at the Kohl's in Fair Lakes. If you know the store there are two entrances. She had to make a quick return, so I waited in the car on the side facing Starbucks. Well, after about 30 minutes I began to wonder if she started shopping, so I parked and went into the store looking for her. That was fruitless and since her cell phone was on the passenger seat calling was not an option, so I drove to the 'front' of the store (near Dick's) and found her walking around looking for me - clearly mad as hell. Getting in the car she asked why I left her for 40 minutes when I pointed out that she was at the wrong door. I have to admit, the makeup sex was pretty good.

Hey ricky, up in New York they just shut down the "other" store and place walls in the mall so it looks like the other store doesn't exist.
