ABC has it, just ask the clerk. They might not have a bottle at every location, but i do know they have blue label at some of them. Price MD/DC vs VA - i dunno about htat.

You have to ask for it and they usually get just three bottles every few months.....its around $240 a bottle.

It's not worth the $240. I have a practically brand new bottle. you can get a lot of heroin for $240 from any Westfield High School student. But Blue Label is not worth it.

Interesting, Glen Livet is my favorite scotch. I just wanted to try blue, I had some black label last night, not the biggest fan..

Spoken like a prudeish grandmother. People do drink for reasons other than getting drunk, and many people only have a glass of their drink of choice.

Case in point. He was asking a question about *GOOD* scotch, which is not something you pound back. Not when it's aged at least 20 years and costs upwards of $200 a bottle. You savor it, you enjoy it, and you don't pour glass after glass after glass in one sitting.

JWB is the most over rated, over priced scotch there is. There are better scotches for less than half the price.
Glenlevit 18, Oban 14, McCallans 18, all are so much better and less expensive.

Yes. If you are just interested & willing to wait, watch the Monday Post for sales.

The DC liquor prices & variety are so much better than the ABC stores that I've heard Virginia police used to stake out the high end DC stores (e.g. Calvert-Woodley) for VA license plates & catch people when they got to the boarder.

I don't drink scotch. Never really had the desire. I'm a wine drinker with the occasional beer or gin and tonic.

I'm not sure I've ever had bourbon outside of having it mixed with something. Have any suggestions for a good straight bourbon?

Bourbon is American whiskey. I don't know of any I would drink straight. If you want a good recommendation on scotch whiskey, Dewar's is pretty good straight. I drink it neat without ice. Very good.

Maker's Mark is not bad mixed, but I am not crazy about it as a sipper. For not much more you can get something like Woodford Reserve which is not too bad. However, if you want to try something different which will help you decide whether you like bourbon I would try one of the small batch bourbon's like Knob Creek, Baker's, Booker's or Basil Hayden. Awesome straight up, maybe with a few pieces of ice or a splash of water.
