City of Fairfax Police arrested a 25-year-old man Tuesday afternoon, March 11, charging him with multiple offenses in connection with two separate crimes committed within a few minutes of each other.
Christian Petts-Lopez, 25, of no fixed address, was taken into custody and charged with grand larceny, robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a crime following a pair of incidents occurred at the Dunkin' Donuts, at 10955 Fairfax Boulevard in the Kamp Washington area, and later the same day at the CVS pharmacy store at 11003 Lee Highway.
According to investigators, police officers responded at about 2:17 p.m. to the Dunkin Donuts for a report of a larceny. A male suspect, later identified as Petts-Lopez, allegedly entered the business and threw two cash registers on the floor, causing them to break open. The suspect then allegedly took a large amount of cash and fled on foot.
Police said the suspect then went to the CVS store at 11003 Lee Highway and allegedly robbed the pharmacist of drugs by implying he had a gun. Officers searched the area for the suspect and located him in a nearby trash dumpster. Petts-Lopez was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond
