Best Small/Local Businesses in Fairfax County

What are the best small and/or local businesses in Fairfax County? I'm talking restaurants, retail, mom and pop shops, etc.

I'm sick of the big box stores and pathetic customer service.

Don't buy anything from any store. Make everything yourself. Start with the raw materials, some mining may be required. Some fruits don't grow well here so you will have to give them up. Also there are no yaks in this area, so switching to cow milk will work in your case.

Conversation: I don't think it's easy to say there is one "small business retailer" in Fairfax, VA. There are many "boutique" type restaurants, coffee shops, and neighborhood places started by the amazing ethnic diversity that we have in Fairfax.

It's a community asset to have such ethnic diversity and variety side by side with the wonderful variety of food stores started by the Koreans as one example.

I am a regular at Lotti Korean Market near my house at Fairfax Circle nearly every week. But I also appreciate the Giant Food Store, Whole Food, and others near my neighborhood, for variety and quality competition.

Hey, that's one big benefit of 'democracy" on a commuinty level !

See you at the Open Mike at Vienna__GMU neighborhood soone ?

We also shop at Lotte...but it's an International conglomerate with roots in Japan, though management is Korean.
