What would we do without Ol' Rob the tick letting us know about all this stuff in every other thread? He's almost as useful as GMU Hokie.

Robert,
It's not "truck 405."
It's Tower Ladder 405.

Any dogs involved? If so, I'm sure they will find them due to the stink.

Just testing. You scanning as well. They say it is abandoned restaurant and the building inspectors where there last week. Fire still under the roof. I think they are just gone let it burn for a bit. They are keeping a 25 feet perimeter.
I see it coming all this people bitching about my spelling, shit!

Fairfax County does not have a Tower 435 or truck 405.

Trucks do not charge lines- engines do.

Get educated before reporting on this site.

There is a Tower 405. 435 has only an engine, as far as suppression pieces go. Despite these slightly misreports, the information is coming from non-professionals. I don't expect the public to know the differences between tower ladders, trucks, quints, squirts, pumpers, engines, or wagons. And if you weren't such a dick, neither would you.

Hey Active- Read my post again.

There is no Tower 435.

405 may be running a reserve truck, therefore a possibility of a Truck 405.

The problem with you newbies is that you think you know everything and are the saviours of the world.

Ever ridden the back step of an engine in a blizzard?

Ever tillered a ladder truck in 10 degree weather?

I didn't think so.

Go warm your balls in the Rehab Unit!

Thanks for the good credits and the semi constructive critics. I have the whole thing recorded. FYI
I figure I should wire it as it happens. At least I don't cut and paste. That is true. News 8 have a really good b ank of scanners b ut still they call me up to figure out things. I know how hard you guys work, to all fire man out there. I am not a fire fighter but I respect them a lot. I listen to you guys 16 hrs per day. I do some of the board ups in those structure fires and I stay till 3 to 4 am on 17 degree temps, is just part of my job.
I figure ill share some of this shit with you guys, seem concern fellows. I can tell by the way you guys reply.
Anyways, I used to work on that che ches on the 90s. I loved the hot chips. Wonder whaty hapened. The one in becon hill also closed and became famous daves.

I read your post. I agreed with it. Read my post again, this time with your spectacles old man. I didn't say you were wrong anywhere.

Ride the back step all you want, and wheel the tiller if you want to while your at it. You're the one acting like you're the saviour of the world by this pointless and overactive boasting. Go ahead and gimme some more war stories about "that one time" or "that other time." Thanks for your 20+ years and all, but you can get the fuck off my balls now. Or just make some long reply to this post so you can feel like you got the last word.

What better time than a blizzard to make an insurance claim!

Didn't this building used to be The Joshua Tree or was that a different one?

Truck-Tower Ladder, give me a fuckin break.

It was a "truck" forever....newbie. That's why they called them "truckies" But this was long before enclosed cabs, affirmaive action, and incident command.

Then FFX went big time, Isman put them on the map.

Then they had to copy the big city guys like FDNY and call a squad a "Rescue". Then trucks became "tower ladders". Now the ambulances sound like engines. Fairfax will copy whatever any real urban FD does, minus the heavy fire call volume of course.

And yes, I have tillered in a blizzard and been skipped over.

The most likely reason the building has been abandoned and nothing done with the property (bull-dozed the building) is for tax reasons. If you have an asset that is non-performing its has the potential as a tax write-off. If its an empty lot, its a tax liability.

Its a Rescue Squad, trucks are straight sticks, towers have the bucket.

It was Truck 422, Tower 405, Truck 208, Tower 408, and one other that I forget. The Alex truck is their brand new tiller.
