Fairfax county has good schools. They are by far one of the elite public school systems in the United States. I don't understand why these people complain so much. Try putting your kid in a public school in Alabama. It'll be a bad education, and coming back to think about it, you'll wish your kids were enrolled in an Fairfax county school. If you want to bitch about how horrible the public schools are, then put your kid in a fancy private school.

She already put her kid in private school. Just keeps whining anyway. No one knows why. She needs to get a life and a husband. That might give her something else to whine about.

Actually, I found the articles interesting from one perspective - what the VGLA system - as it looks like it is being really abused - is doing to teachers. Teaching is a difficult job, and the dodgy make-work aspect of the VGLA appears daunting and takes time and energy away from teaching the bulk of the students. This is not a rant against FCPS, but if the best assets of the school system - teachers - are not treated reasonably it doesn't make for a good future for any of us. By the way, I am not a teacher nor do I have any affiliation with them - but this VGLA deal doesn't appear to make sense, except of course that it makes the AYP numbers look far better than they otherwise would be.
