Local factories? Prodiction and assembly Lines?

I am looking to tour some locally operated businesses/factories.

What do we have here. First thing that comes to mind is Pepsi plant in Chantilly and Route 66 chips.

Anything else we have in Northern VA, thats semi large scale?

Thanks

Well, there isn't much manufacturing industry inside the beltway like you would find in the Richmond or Norfolk areas.

Also not local, but there is the Fabrique Nationale plant in Fredericksburg.

I believe there are several Cheesecake Factories in the area. I understand that the graham cracker crust fabrication process is especially interesting to watch.

Actually, there is also the Bowman's distillery in Fredericksburg. Much of the production there is for export.

I was told Anheuser-Busch bought them out and they just recently closed their doors.

Krispy Kreme in Alexandria

Merrilat Cabinets are on I-81 somewhere

If you want to go to Richmond, theres a lot of industry including tobacco and Krispy Kreme

If you go to norfolk, they make ships

In Radford there is some ammunation factory

As for old Dominion, someone bought them, they are still gonna make it but somewhere else out of state. Maybe PA?

To clarify:

They were bought by a company that is partially owned by Anhueser-Busch. And, they are still in operation, but, were moving from Ashburn to Delaware sometime this year.

It's a shame really. Their brewpub was great- good food and fresh beer. And the brewery tour was fun.
